Difference between Azure Functions & Azure Logic Apps

The Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps are related but independent products that work together. Azure Function is a cloud hosting processing solution that lets developers design and executes functions in the cloud using their code. Azure Logic Apps is a flow-based service that integrates with Azure and Office 365 and allows customers to develop and run processes in the cloud. So, what's the difference between them?

Azure Functions

1. Azure functions are used to run code in response to an event whereas in logic apps you can run code periodically

2. Azure functions can be invoked from a linked service whereas logic apps can be invoked from a source trigger

3. Azure functions cannot return a value whereas in logic apps you can return a value

Azure Logic Apps

Finally, Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps work together smoothly, making it easier to create production-ready apps. Functions can be used to develop occurrence APIs, while Logic Apps can be used to develop automated workflows that assist users in completing tasks. Scripts triggered by events can also be run using functions. They are serverless and grow to accommodate large amounts of queries instantly. Although Functions and Logic Apps are complementary, they can be utilized for distinct objectives.
